What is an EP?

An Educational Psychologist works with children and young people when there are concerns about their development, including social skills, emotional wellbeing, behaviour, or learning.

Our Process

We meet with parents, talk to school staff and other professionals, and review any background information. We also observe the young person and carry out one-to-one assessments with them.

Therapeutic support for children and young people

Aroa is developing its therapeutic offer to provide compassionate, evidence-based support for children and young people experiencing emotional distress, trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

Support draws on therapeutic interventions, trauma-informed approaches and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and may be delivered through individual or small-group work.

This developing service reflects Aroa’s commitment to supporting emotional wellbeing alongside learning, helping children, young people and school staff thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
